Monday Mettā
A new + beautiful way to experience Mondays.
May I care for myself with compassion and love. May all others feel compassion and love.
One for you, one for the masses.
Caring for oneself looks different to different people. What is it you feel would bring you joy? Peace? Calm? What does self-compassion look like to you?
Sometimes, it’s just hand-on-heart, a few deep breaths, and the acknowledgement that you are your own best friend.
Once you’ve made that connection with yourself, shown yourself a little self love, a little mettā, send out some compassion to others. Imagine everyone everywhere getting the love they need, in the way that they need it.
So glad you’re here.
Fun Tarot Card Reading!
Use your intuition to guide you to a specific card below. Choose the card with the crystal on it that calls to you.
At the end of this newsletter, you’ll see the cards flipped over, with a reading for each one. The card that you choose here will have your reading for the week.
Wait to scroll down to the bottom until you’ve chosen your card!
Reading today from Rider Waite Smith deck.
Card 1: Amethyst. Choose this card if you’ve had some addictive behaviors as of late (too much TV, social media, or mindless thinking that propels you into worry. Or, sugar cookies, in my case).
Card 2: Blue Lace Agate. Choose this card if you’re having trouble saying what you need to say.
Card 3: Selenite. Choose this card if you’d like an energy shift.

This Sunday! Join me for a Tarot Reading Workshop from 3-4:30
Reading Tarot is a fun way to use symbols and archetypes, which have been passed down for centuries, to better understand the world and your place in it. It’s not necessarily predictive, but can be used to sort through decisions, questions, and even as a daily guide.
No prior Tarot experience necessary. If you don’t already own a deck, you can purchase one from your local bookstore, metaphysical store, House of Intuition, or on… Amazon. I’ll be working with the Rider-Waite deck to teach, a great deck for beginning Tarot learners, and would suggest you work with the same.
You’ll learn basic ways to interpret the cards based on:
color
number
suit
minor and major arcana
You’ll also get to practice the classic three card spread and (if we have time) the five card spread.
Cost is $36 for the workshop (connect with me for equitable pricing options).

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Amethyst // Ten of Wands You’ve been feeling particularly burdened lately, which is why you’re reaching for a little release. Take a step back. What are you doing too much of? How are you busying your time? Who constantly needs something from you? Take this opportunity to set boundaries within yourself. Start saying “no” if possible. You’re beginning to suffer from burnout and you’re using distractions to keep you from facing reality. Good news is, though, that this card is the number ten. In Tarot, the ten represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. You are in the perfect position to reevaluate and make some behavior changes. You are strong enough, worth enough, and empowered enough to begin.
Card 2: Blue Lace Agate // The Hierophant (V) This card represents the fact that you are literally here, right now, to speak from your truth. You are ready, and people are ready to listen. The Hierophant energy is wise and authoritative. It is also based on traditions and spiritual understanding. In what ways have communications worked for you in the past? In what ways have they failed? By reflecting on your communication style (writing or speaking), you will be able to move forward with more awareness. Also notice the Hierophant has blue fabric around his neck. Blue is the color of the throat chakra, the color of the lace agate crystal, and reinforces the idea that this is your time to speak up.
Card 3: Selenite // Two of Wands It really is this simple: take a trip! More often than not, a change in geography can help shift stagnant energy, patterns, and behaviors. Sure, things often go back to the way they were when you get home, but not if you are conscious of what you’re learning and experiencing in this new place, even if it’s just for a few hours. Go on a date to a town you’ve never been before, or, if you’re feeling safe and ready, book that weekend getaway you’ve been mulling over (I’m taking my own advice here!). Even reading a book can take you out of your current time and place to gain perspective. However you can make it happen, go forth and travel.
