Monday Mettā
A new + beautiful way to experience Mondays
May my heart be at ease. May my body be at ease. May I feel at ease. May all beings be at ease.
A wish and a prayer for all. This mettā works well when you can gently place your hands on your heart. Physical touch, even your own, feels good. If you’ve ever come to a yoga class of mine, there’s a strong possibility you’ll hear me tell you to “hug yourself” or “give yourself a kiss” or the like. I believe in it! Wrap your arms around you.
With hands on your heart, you can repeat these words. A release for the body, a release for the spirit, and a gift for others. When you send mettā out in the world, it reaches people. I promise.

So glad you’re here.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Jasper // Four of Wands
Your call to action is twofold! One—begin at the beginning. If you’re starting a project, go back to the foundation, the start before the start. If you’re in the middle of something, think of how you structured it to begin with. If you’re nearing the end, pinpoint the fundamentals and make sure they have been carried through. In numerology, the four is foundational (think of the four walls of a house)—very structured, safe, and stable. But your second action is to work with joy! Look at those little bear cubs. If what you’re doing isn’t just a little bit fun, start over, or infuse a little glee into your project, work, or life. The fruits (see that canopy of fruit?) of your labor will be rich and abundant but there has to be at least a little joy.
Card 2: Pyrite // Eight of Wands
Ok- something in your heart doesn’t feel right. You’re feeling fragmented, frayed, frazzled (but still impressed by my alliteration). All of those feelings are simply energy. Use that energy, but flip it into confidence, power, and pride. Remind yourself of who you are. Remind yourself that you are loved. If you can’t, ask your nearest and dearest to list a few things they admire and love about you, and try to believe them. Your job right now is to become laser focused on yourself—feel as full of love as possible so that you can step out into the world, radiating.
Card 3: Amethyst // Four of Swords
I didn't plan for the card to perfectly align with the stone, or with the intention, but it absolutely did, and I love when that happens. This is a meditation card. Notice the figure, sleeping, in total hibernation. The fish under ice, the bears in their cave… these images are meant to nudge you into isolation mode. You don’t need to become a hermit, but try to sit with yourself without any stimulation. The next time you mediate, try it without a bell or a guide. The next time you walk, try it without listening to a podcast. See what silence can do for your inner clutter. You may find the thoughts just keep on coming! That’s OK- it’s almost like a spring cleaning. Let them come and let them go.
