Monday Mettā
a new + beautiful way to experience Mondays
May I be happy
May I be healthy
May I exist with ease
An oldie and goodie, this phrase is a personal favorite. I say it to myself a lot, when I feel great, when I feel yucky, when I feel regular. It’s not aspirational for me— as in, I don’t have to be happy, healthy, filled with ease at every moment. But what this phrase does do is simply calms me down, promotes an inner smile, and reminds me to be kind to myself.
(And we are so often not kind to ourselves. So, look upon this as not another way to attain perfection, but as a way to remind yourself you are love, and you are loved.)
Many of us are worried about the wider world. It’s worth taking a few moments to connect and commit to some love turned inward, using mettā as an anchor. This will help enable us with the courage, creativity, and persistence we need.

So glad you’re here.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Snowflake obsidian // Ten of Swords
There’s something in your life that is coming to an end, and this ending will create great forward momentum as well as relief for you. The Ten shows up at the end of a life cycle, and the Ten of Swords shows up when that ending will propel you towards something more spiritual, thoughtful, and heartfelt. Less about the body (health, physical needs) and more about the mind, heart, and spirit. The message here is a reminder: when something ends, it opens you up to a brighter beginning.
Card 2: Carnelian // The Star
The Star is a beautiful card, all about metamorphosis and reverence for your own self and the body you inhabit. To find a source of creativity, you need look no further than your own experiences, those memories hidden within your subconscious that, in one way or another, transformed you. The butterflies in this card are the colors of the seven chakras, a hint to you to meditate on those seven spots: your root, your center of creativity, your “gut,” your heart, your authenticity, your wisdom, and your higher self.
Card 3: Blue aventurine // Seven of Wands
Ha! This is, perhaps, one of the least calm and harmonious cards. Your state of mind would actually benefit from some courage! This card serves as a reminder of your “coeur,” or heart in French, but also the basis of the word “courage.” To find your tranquility, you must have heart, and face what is causing you to feel off-kilter. You know those people who walk across hot coals? (Season 3, Episode 23 of The Office, fyi.) That’s this card. Take a deep breath and go forth.
