Monday Mettā
a new + beautiful way to experience Mondays
May I be free from disturbance, fear, and anxiety.
May [insert someone you love without restraint] be free from disturbance, fear, and anxiety.
May [insert someone you have neutral feelings for] be free from disturbance, fear, and anxiety.
May [insert someone you struggle with] be free from disturbance, fear, and anxiety.
May all beings be free from disturbance, fear, and anxiety.
These words, or this prayer, is attributed to Thich Nhat Hanh, and is the third line of his Nine Prayers.
As you meditate on these words, start with yourself— the importance of self-loving-kindness is vital. Then, send mettā out to others. Begin with someone you deeply love, with no complications. Move to someone you simply know, with no expectations. Then send these words to someone you struggle with, imagining them with love. Finally, send out these words to the planet.
The Nine Prayers
May I be peaceful, happy, and light in body and spirit.
May I be free from injury. May I live in safety.
May I be free from disturbance, fear, and anxiety.
May I learn to look at myself with the eyes of understanding and of love.
May I be able to recognize and touch the seeds of joy and happiness in myself.
May I learn to identify and see the sources of anger, craving, and delusion in myself.
May I know how to nourish the seeds of joy in myself every day.
May I be able to live fresh, solid and free.
May I be free from attachment and aversion, but not be indifferent.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Selenite // Three of Cups
This card is sending you two messages. The first is to celebrate in all you’ve been doing for yourself these past few weeks, especially in the realm of self-love and inward focus. It doesn't all have to be serious! It can be joyful and celebratory. The second message is to join a group, or a class, or find a teacher. Sometimes, meditation is better together! I meet up with an old classmate of mine across the Atlantic every week for a 20 minute meditation session. We say a quick hello and then sit together, and it’s nice to know that I have someone with me during what is usually such a solitary activity. So, get yourself a meditation buddy! I’m always up for grabs, and/or I’d be happy to find you someone. Just email me 💞
Card 2: Amethyst // Justice
It’s important to balance your dreamlike state with your waking life, as in, give them both equal weight. Our sleep-dreams and our daydreams take us out of the present, sure, but they allow us to imagine. Sometimes our dreams have symbols and images (like these cards) that are there to give us messages, tips for action or points of focus. If you’ve been having particularly vivid dreams lately, pay attention to them, and write them down in those hazy early morning moments. They’ll make more sense as the day goes on. If you’ve been day dreaming lately, organize your thoughts into focused lists. What have you been musing about? What can you grasp from your daydreams to bring into your “real” life?
Card 3: Pyrite // Ten of Wands
Ha! You wanted confidence? You got it! Here’s the ten: a number of completion, of moving from one big step to the next. And here are the wands: the suit of fiery passion and creativity. This card acknowledges that you may have a lot to carry but you also have a lot of support. Just look at the bear behind the figure in the card…it’s your higher self, your confidence, helping to get you through and on to the next big thing. Also notice the four points in the center. Like a compass, this is a signal to go forward, and rely on guidance you already have or help you know you can get.
