Monday Mettā
A new + beautiful way to experience Mondays.
I trust my body. I trust my heart. I use my body and heart as a resource.
When I’m in the throes of decision making, whether its a small one (what to eat for dinner) or a large one (how to spend my money and time) or a mammoth one (health stuff!), I tend to jump to conclusions, and then judgement, before actually listening to what I really need. Something I’m learning to do is to use my body as a resource in my decision making.
For some, especially anyone who has experienced long-term trauma, an anxiety disorder, or struggles with control issues, finding trust in our bodies and hearts is really challenging. Is my anxiety a sign that I shouldn’t do something? Or is it simply a habit of thought?
Today’s mettā is meant as a reminder that there IS trust to be found in the body and heart. As with every mettā, you may not feel it is true to you right away, but it is the beginning of an affirmation that could eventually feel like your experience.

So glad you’re here.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Birds Eye Rhyolite // Seven of Cups
This card reminds us that it’s our soul that needs cultivating (that’s the bird in the circle). When its being ignored, by filling up your time with escape mechanisms like scrolling, TV-watching, or anything else that takes you out of the present for a significant period of time, your full potential can not be accessed. The number seven is a divine one— a reminder to cultivate your spirit and soul. This card shows four cups on the bottom, which act as your stability. Coming back to the body, to the space around you and how you interact with it, and connecting with the natural world, helps you to realize what you are capable of (represented by the three cups at the top).
Card 2: Peach Quartz // Seven of Swords
This card appears when you’re struggling with inner conflict, which is why the idea of inner peace sounds so lovely. And it has appeared at the right time. The number seven is a divine one— a reminder to cultivate your spirit and soul, and this card is showing you how to do just that. It’s all about reflection, acknowledgement of the past (note the baby deer), and the commitment to move forward with eyes open (notice the open eyes on the tree trunks). Reflection, real and balanced acknowledgement, and commitment are how we grow. These aspects help to cultivate inner peace.
Card 3: Cracked Fire Agate // Knight of Cups
This card’s message is that your willpower comes from your heart. Which makes sense— cracked fire agate is a heart-chakra stone, and this is a heart-chakra card. So the message here is pretty connected to today’s mettā. What is your heart guiding you towards? How can your heart be a resource for you? Your willpower (the power you have to make decisions and have choice) will work out for you if you are following what it is your heart needs and wants. Your heart’s desires are not necessarily what your mind tells you to do or what you feel you should do.
