Monday Mettā
A new + beautiful way to experience Mondays
May I exist in joy and delight. May all beings find joy and delight.
What this mettā is really about is breathing in as much joy and delight as you possibly can, and sending that out to the world. So many of us feel that joy is selfish, or has to be earned. This is not true. Joy does not have to be earned, it has to be felt and expressed. There is nothing wrong with delighting in your life. There is nothing wrong with wishing joy for others.
Breathe it in. Smile. Find yourself in joy as much as you can today, even if you have to actively look for it and appreciate it. The act of looking for and appreciating joy, well, that’s just mindfulness.
I’ll remind you of Thich Nhat Hanh: May I be able to recognize and touch the seeds of joy and happiness in myself.
✨
So glad you’re here.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Jade // Seven of Pentacles
The seven is an interesting number for the issue of direction and purpose. A lucky, spiritual number, it also represents the idea of dharma—that through doing good and a deeper understanding of who you are, you are an embodiment of your life’s purpose. The Seven of Pentacles takes this one step further, signaling to you that what you are building, growing, or even seeding is coming to fruition. If you have just completed a project, for example, or feel satisfied at work or in your creative pursuits, this card is a manifestation of that satisfaction and purpose. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, this card signifies that you are at a crossroads. Your will and power of choice are vital, now, as you realize you get to decide how you life and who you want to be.
Card 2: Chrysoprase // The Lovers
Ah, The Lovers. Whether your habits show up in your partnerships or in other relationships in your life, it’s time to take a look at them (not your other half, but your habits!). What are you doing, saying, or insinuating that are promoting habitual breakdowns of communication, of joy, or of gratitude? I’m not saying you are in the wrong, but I am saying that your habits mingle with your partner’s habits and may cause your relationship to feel like two cars passing each other on opposite sides of the freeway. Since you can’t make anyone do anything, choose yourself. Choose to reflect and recalibrate, choose to communicate well and fall in love with yourself. Your energy will shift and so will your habits.
Card 3: Green Tourmaline // Seven of Cups
When a Cups card (indicating subconscious thought and a deep emotional well) shows up in a work or career reading, it signifies that close attention must be paid to your heart. In the chakra system, the heart chakra is where you hold your authenticity (the throat chakra is where you express it!). Your issues at work, this card is telling you, is related to how you you feel in your career or workplace. Now, I’m not saying you need to be wholly yourself at work—there are ways I express myself at home that would be completely unprofessional at work—but the self you do bring to work needs to be without compromise to your values. Take stock: what are the ways you can show up as your work-self that feel more true to who you are?
