Monday Mettā
A new + beautiful way to experience Mondays.
May I be at home and at ease with myself. May all beings be at home in themselves.
Coming into ease with yourself means feeling at home in your body, mind, heart in all situations, even the most uncomfortable ones. It means staying centered and speaking with and living from integrity. It means connecting with what it is YOU really need and following that thread.
This weekend I took a mini-road trip to visit family and friends. I went out! I socialized 1,000% more than I have in the past two years, and exerted a lot of energy in the process, energy I am not used to exerting. As anxieties and discomforts cropped up (a four hour drive turned into a six hour drive, etc.), I had to really connect with my center to stay balanced. I had to use all the muscles I’ve been training over these last couple of years. I had to rely on myself, my sense of ease, my centering. This is what we’re cultivating here.
The other part of this mettā is the understanding that all beings are entitled to the same ease and centered balance as you are. Beings you don’t like and beings you unconditionally love are grouped here in the same sentence. Part of feeling at ease and at home in your own body is wishing that for all others. May we all feel at home in ourselves.
So glad you’re here.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
*A note on today’s cards. Without meaning it at all, the mettā and the cards are perfectly aligned. They all echo a theme- finding home within yourself, finding your own North Star, and finding your center.
Card 1: Rose Quartz // Three of Swords You’re grieving a loss. It may be the loss of a relationship, or a part of yourself that you have given away, or maybe a business deal. Possibly, miscommunication is causing a rift in your relationships. Your emotional life is feeling a little painful right now. The thing about this card (one of my favorites) is that it’s a clear message of cleansing. The only way out is through. Cry if you need to, because (as this card indicates— the tears turn into stars) crying makes way for healing. Let this be a message of fortitude, courage, and integrity, and of growth. We will never grow if nothing changes. And take a look at the two spirits on either side of the figure— you aren’t alone. Ask for help in exactly the ways you need it, and if you are a spiritual/religious person, know that you are being guided by the divine.
Card 2: Blue Lace Agate // Five of Wands Your body and mind are like a volcano, about to run over with emotion. This card encourages you to quiet down and find your center. If you are literally feeling pain (inflammation of the body), take a rest. Listen to the messages your body is giving you. Take slow walks if you’re able, stay hydrated, get a massage. Listen inward to make yourself well again. If you are feeling emotionally inflamed, the advice remains the same. Listen inward. Find some stillness and balance— what do you need to change in your life to feel a little more at peace? You know the answer, now’s the time to take your own advice.
Card 3: Carnelian // Five of Pentacles This card is a reminder that you are not alone (you have YOURSELF). If you are having trouble trusting yourself and your own decisions, there are two things you can do. The first is to gain consensus. Ask for advice from people you trust, not people who a) tell you what you want to hear or b) judge you. This probably comes down to one or two people in your life, if you really think about it. Trust their help. The second thing to do is to find your inner North Star. Gaining consensus is all well and good, but at some point, you have to learn to make decisions without asking for advice. The process of trusting yourself does not happen overnight, but with repeated practice. Sit and ask yourself: what makes me feel good (or warm, or light, or at peace). Do this over and over again. This practice will eventually lead you towards your intuition and to trust in your decision making.
