Monday Mettā
A new + beautiful way to experience Mondays.
I am at ease. May my family be at ease. May my friends be at ease. May my neighborhood be at ease. May my community be at ease. May my country be at ease. May all the people, families, friends, neighbors, communities, and countries be at ease.
Community maitri. Community mettā.
Your mettā work is not just for yourself, although your own self love and compassion is necessary. Mettā works to elevate the entire planet to feel love.
“Lavish love on others and receive it gratefully when it comes to you.” This statement, by Sister Helen Prejean, is a practice worth repeating. This week, during Thanksgiving in the United States, whisper sweet nothings to yourself and to others. Sit alone for five minutes and imagine a bead of love, growing from your chest and radiating out, to your immediate family, your block, your town, your city, your community, country, planet. Send your love inward and send your love away. May all beings live with ease.
So glad you’re here.

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Green Calcite // The Hierophant. The Hierophant asks us to honor tradition, but this doesn’t mean blindly following a ritual or thinking pattern that doesn’t work for you. In honoring tradition, you can also honor that it doesn’t fit with your belief system or abilities anymore. Seek wisdom (from yourself, or a mentor or teacher) about how to respond to a pattern that you’d like to get out of. You don’t have to do this alone.
Card 2: Rose Quartz // The World. The World, in this context, symbolizes an ending and a new beginning. This doesn’t necessarily mean the end of a relationship (although it could), but could also mean the end of a stage in your relationship. Engagement → marriage, for example. And if you are working on self-love, try expanding your world a little. This is a chance for you to meet yourself, get to know yourself, and connect. Read, journal, sit in nature. Be with you!
Card 3: Citrine // Eight of Swords. Are you feeling frozen, scared, unable to see a way forward? Sometimes our thinking can cause us to stay still, and not in a settled, grounded way, but in a fatiguing way. Look inward. Notice her blindfold… she must use her inner knowing, her intuition, to guide her forward. Journal here (the suit of swords is about communication) about what is holding you back, and how you could move forward.
