Monday Morning Mettā
A new + beautiful way to experience Mondays.
Things are always working out for me.
I heard this mantra from a friend this week.
He told the story of his car breaking down on the highway. He called to get it towed, and it ended up being thousands in damage. He kept repeating to himself: things are always working out for me.
Which they did. The tow truck driver knocked $100 off the price of the tow because they had such a great conversation. The car dealership ended up buying the car as a trade in, leaving him with a “new to him” car.
I pointed out that his attitude got him much of that. If he had been in a terrible mood with the tow truck driver, he would have paid full price. If he had been angry and upset at the dealership, maybe they wouldn’t have been as quick to help him out.
Whether you can see it or not, things are always working out for you. Think about the last time you “failed,” or jumped into something without thinking. How did your built in safety net help you out? How did your attitude open doors? How did your failure lead to an interesting and great new opportunity?
So glad you’re here.

Rachel’s Recommendations
Island Beneath the Sea by Isabel Allende. I love Caribbean history and this novel takes you through a huge swath of it, through Haiti to Cuba the southern United States. She shuffles through many characters and generations, all of them fully formed and multi-faceted. Well worth the investment.
For all my consumers out there: I just found out about Made Trade, a site with ethically crafted, sustainable, and socially conscious “stuff.” Check them out!

Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Tiger’s Eye // King of Pentacles I’m going to give you an assignment. Whatever you have going on that has created some mood imbalance, whether it’s an argument with a partner, a frustrating project for work or for pleasure, or a seemingly obtuse financial plan, sit down and map it out. Give yourself clear steps and small goals as you work through the issue. Begin with what you have and write down what you need. You will find abundance in the details.
Card 2: Red Jasper // Nine of Cups Take stock in your own greatness and in your fantastical dreams and wishes. You may feel unmotivated, but look around you at all that you have accomplished already! An assignment: write down or speak out loud nine (9) things you are grateful for, and why. For example: I am grateful for my home because it is safe and comfortable. Remind yourself of what you have and bask in it.
Card 3: Brecciated Jasper // The Chariot Brecciated Jasper has some hematite in it, a healing stone. If you are making a choice, choose the one that will be the most healing for you. You are on the right path, even if it feels iffy or confusing. There is nothing confused about the Charioteer. Be bold, be courageous, and remember that courage can’t exist without risk, calculated or not.
