Your Tarot Reading, Revealed!
Card 1: Citrine // Queen of Swords
Use your words! The Swords are the suit of intellect and communication. Your creativity wants to come through in the form of text—in any kind. Try prose, poetry, song lyrics, or just journal about your day. Give your focus and attention to picking up the pen or tapping on those keys. As you write, you’ll open up to new ideas and unlock some creativity. Sometimes I try the “Morning Pages” routine, where I write for either 20 minutes or three pages, whichever comes first.
Card 2: Tourmaline // The Chariot
The Chariot is a funny card because it shows a chariot (representing forward motion and movement) but the chariot is standing still. What does this mean for you? You’re in a standstill with yourself—running and rerunning a familiar story about how you failed at this or suck at that. Take inspiration from the balance of this card (note the black and white sphinx—yin and yang) and catch yourself thinking. Every time you say something negative to or about yourself, balance it with a positive (mettā works well here) statement. This might not feel authentic at first, but it doesn’t have to. It’s an exercise in balance.
Card 3: Selenite // Judgement
Um. I laughed out loud when I flipped this card over. Not planned, very well executed. Good job, cards. It’s a reiteration of how you’ve been feeling—lots of high bar setting, of being hard on yourself, of perhaps judging others because of a feeling of lack within yourself. This card is also a reminder that judgement can be a chance for a rebirth in a way. How can you use your opinions of yourself to cleanse, and wash away all those fears you are carrying around? Because so often, judgement is based on fear. Reflect on your self-judgement and go deeper into what you are fearing. Once you acknowledge your fears, you can begin to work through them.
